Rite Aid is a bit different than some of the other drug stores because they start their new sales for the week on Fridays. My kids each got a free kids meal at Pick Up Stix from the Legoland Brick-or-Treat so we stopped by for an easy weeknight dinner. We were thrilled to discover more free kids meal coupons in each fortune cookie. They gave us one for each meal we had (including the free ones). If you want more, they sell extra fortune cookies in bags of 25 for $2. These would be a great treat to give out for Halloween or save them and have several frugal dinners.

Winter is a hard time in our family because we have a preschooler with severe asthma who catches every bug that goes around so we try and have plenty of medicine on hand for him. We try and buy mostly organic, minimally processed foods in our family because we have one son with a chronic medical condition and one with an allergy to food coloring and preservatives. There’s very few brands that I can allow all my kids to eat. I’ve tried the Amy’s Kitchen Organic Pizza before and been pretty impressed. I love Chili’s. We used to live so close to one that we’d always go there to get takeout Chips and Salsa because it ended up being cheaper than the grocery store most of the time. There’s a great coupon out there just in time for the weekend for free Chili’s Chips and Queso (yum). These will probably go fast so if you want a treat this weekend you’ll want to print your Chili’s coupon right away.
