Living Social has a great deal for anyone in or around Carlsbad. For only $24 you will get a 2 hour Aquacycle or Paddleboard rental. That’s a great way to try out something new without putting a lot of money into it and this would make a fantastic family activity.
We’ve lived here for nearly a year and half now and we have never been to the Carlsbad Lagoon so we’re definitely taking advantage of this deal as a way to test the waters.
Snag this deal before it’s gone!

If you are anywhere near Pasadena, stop by and check out the Kidspace Children’s Museum. Admission is free tonight from 4:00 pm t0 8:00 pm. My kids had the chance to check out Kidspace while my husband and I attended the Lexus Family Safety Camp last year and while I was too busy learning how to take the keys out of the ignition while in a moving car, my kids had a blast with the museum staff. They couldn’t stop talking about all the cool things they got to do.
Kidspace is free the first Tuesday of every month thanks to a grant by the Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission and the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division. Click here for more details.

My kids are huge Lego fans. They actually prefer Legoland to Disneyland most of the time. If you want to enjoy Legoland for a seriously discounted price while the kids are out of school, you can buy Legoland passes for only $9.99 per person from now until Christmas – which means you’d have to go tomorrow. This is a great deal though and Legoland at Christmas time is really fun because they have a giant Lego Christmas Tree and hold a tree lighting ceremony every night.
You can buy up to 6 tickets at that price and they must be used by 12/25.
Thanks to The Carlsbad Patch for sharing such a great deal!

Knott’s Berry Farm is offering free theme park admission with a $15 donation to Toys for Tots. My family and I took advantage of this last year and we were all so impressed with the holiday shows and events at the park. They put on a Charlie Brown’s Christmas show and it was a really refreshing change from some of the other holiday events we had attended because they actually read parts of the Christmas story just as they do in the movie.
My kids really enjoyed all the rides and it was a fun day for the whole family. The wording is a bit screwy on their website. It says you can bring a toy valued at $15 or more and then receive a voucher that lets you buy an admission ticket for $15 or buy a $15 toy at the park. An easier option is simply to pay a $15 online donation and print your ticket at home. This is only good through December 19th so you’ll want to fit it into your schedule soon if you’d like to take advantage of this deal.

I’m still in shock that we’re moving into the holiday season again but now that December is almost here I’m starting to get excited to put our Christmas tree up. This year has been a time of huge change for our family and a time we’ve spent recovering from the losses that we’ve experienced over the past several years. I’m looking forward to the holidays as a chance to spend time together as a family and focusing on the simple things that bring us closer.
Groupon has a great deal going on today. For $24 you get $50 worth of Christmas trees at PB Christmas trees. They have several locations around San Diego to choose from. We got rid of our artificial Christmas tree during our move this past year because it just wouldn’t fit in the truck and we didn’t have room to store one so we’re opting for a fresh Christmas tree this year. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a fresh Christmas tree and I am really looking forward to the smell of pine and the chance to pull out our holiday decorations.

My kids each got a free kids meal at Pick Up Stix from the Legoland Brick-or-Treat so we stopped by for an easy weeknight dinner. We were thrilled to discover more free kids meal coupons in each fortune cookie. They gave us one for each meal we had (including the free ones). If you want more, they sell extra fortune cookies in bags of 25 for $2. These would be a great treat to give out for Halloween or save them and have several frugal dinners.
If you visit Pick up Stix on Halloween in costume and mention that you saw their offer on Facebook and you’ll get a FREE order of cream cheese wontons with any purchase.

I love Tanger Outlet malls. I’ve had pretty good luck (especially during the spring and fall) finding great discounts on name brand clothing. I have children’s jeans that I bought for $2 each that made it through 3 kids just fine. Tanger Outlets has a great offer going on right now if you “like” them on Facebook. Once they hit 96,000 “likes” they will post a link for their fans (for 24 hours only so keep an eye out for it) that will allow you to buy a $50 gift certificate for only $25. This is a great deal! If you or your kids need any holiday clothes then you won’t want to miss this offer. The only location in Southern California is located in Barstow but if you live in the area or are passing by during any of your holiday travel plans it’s worth taking advantage of this deal.

I’ve seen several photography deals pop up on Groupon but not many workshops and very few with photographers that actually look like they know what they are doing. Today Groupon has a great deal on a 6 hour photography workshop withVal Westover Photography for only $59 (normally a $450 value).
This would make a great Christmas gift for someone. I’ve been doing some pretty strong hinting myself this morning. Groupon deals are only good for one day though so you’ll need to move fast before this deal ends.
